AR: How did you two meet?

L: We met our first year of law school, technically in a class over the summer, but we didn’t really start talking as friends until torts class that fall. 

O: We met through law school, first on zoom university and then in person for our second year.

AR: What was your first date? 

L: After a year of texting and seeing each other on virtual classes, I finally worked up the courage to meet Owen in person to celebrate being done with our summer internships. We went to the Tavern of Little Italy in the early afternoon. When we were ready to leave, the power went out and we ended up being stuck at the bar for many additional hours. By the time we left, at least 6 hours later, I was infatuated. 

O: Our first date was at a tavern in the little Italy district of Cleveland. We had planned to just have a drink or two, but then the power went out at the bar and we had to stay 3 more hours to pay our tab. Couldn’t have been better.

AR: How did your proposal happen?

L: Owen proposed on an observatory tower in his home town of Mount Vernon, OH. The tower was part of an industrial park and was converted to an observatory when the park was created. I was looking around at the scenery and Owen said he had something he wanted to ask me. 

O: I took Lizzy back to my home town and took her to the highest tower in our nature park. It’s an old smokestack from a coal power plant. Asked her at the top.

AR: What do you remember most from your wedding day?

L: 100% our first look. I accidentally told Owen to turn around before we were ready and then immediately started crying when we saw each other. It was so funny and so us to be too eager to see each other to understand the instructions for the first look. 

O: I remember the smiles on everyone’s faces, but most of all Lizzy’s. It was so happy and celebratory and I can’t imagine it going any better.
